Calcite on Quartz with Pyrrhotite and Manganocalcite

A few months ago I met a fellow looking to move product from the Trepca Stari Trg Mine. I inquired if there was anything “special” and he sent photos of these wonderful spherical aggregates of calcite, ranging from pure white to salmon/pink. Additionally, there were lenticulated rhombohedral mangano calcites on the outer reaches of many quartz crystals. According to Petrit (head hoistman) these were unique. We bought all he had (30 pieces). This one is particularly choice. With great sadness Petrit Januzzi passed away last week. He had just had a baby (Musa). Our prayers are with his family.
